Eat & Review: Gesha Coffee Co.

Gesha Coffee Co.
Café and Coffee Roastery
59A Queen Victoria St, Fremantle
(08) 9335 6059

After my swim this morning I decided to wander over to Gesha around the corner from the Fremantle pool for a much needed coffee.  It always looks busy when we drive by and this morning it’s buzzing too.  Luckily we manage to get a table outside in the warm autumn sun and I can park the pram quite easily next to our table too.  The roastery is attached the café and wafts of freshly roasted coffee beans fill the café and its terrace with a beautiful smell. Bring on the coffee!  The staff is quick and welcoming when I order at the counter; a Latte ($4) for me and a Babycino ($1) for Oscar. And some Potato croquettes with smoked salmon, avocado mousse, fennel & dill crème fraiche ($23.50) to share.

The coffees gets served quickly.  My Latte is robust, full of flavour, creamy and of perfect temperature.  Oscar gives his Babycino (served in a little porcelain espresso cup with three marshmallows on the side!) the thumbs up too.  While we wait for our food I see a number of customers buying a big bag of roasted beans and/or coffee, which you can buy directly from the café counter.

The food comes out and is presented beautifully.  The salmon and croquettes are crisp, tasty and fresh.  The avocado mousse, fennel & dill crème fraiche with the added bit of lemon give the dish a subtle but yummy finish.  Perfect for a healthy yet flavoursome post swim brunch.

We will be back ♥
